This accountant made a point to save for years so that he could buy his own house. He conceded that his diligence was a response to having moved all around throughout his childhood. His mother and sister continued to be less reliable with money, which in turn made them more reliant on him for help. By the time he was ready to make his down payment, his younger sister tried to get in the way by guilting him into lending her some of that hard-earned money. When he refused, he quickly became derided by his sister and mother, so he had to make the difficult decision to cut them off for good.
